Give your solar PV system a proper lift
If your older solar system isn't pulling its weight anymore, a panel replacement may be the best solution. S M Electrical Contractors Ltd will assess your current setup and recommend practical improvements that suit your roof, usage, and goals. That could mean replacing ageing panels with newer solar PV technology, adding more capacity, or removing units that no longer perform as they should.
Is a solar panel upgrade right for you?
A panel upgrade can help you generate more usable power across the day and make better use of the roof space you already have. Additionally, it's a sensible step if your energy needs have changed since your first installation was completed. We handle the process from consultation through to installation, keeping everything clear and straightforward from the start.
Helping your investment go further
Older panels often lose output over time, and that drop can be frustrating when you're relying on them to offset rising electricity costs and increased usage. We look at what your current system is doing now, then compare that with what our newer equipment could achieve on the same property.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my solar panels need upgrading?
If your system produces less power than it used to, struggles to cover your current usage, or older panels are looking a little worse for wear, an upgrade may be worthwhile. We can assess the setup and explain what improvements are possible.
Can you add extra panels to my existing solar system?
Yes, adding more capacity can be considered as part of a solar panel upgrade, depending on your existing system, available roof space and energy requirements. We can assess your setup and advise on suitable options.
Do you remove old solar panels as part of the upgrade?
Yes, existing panel removal is included where needed. We manage the changeover as part of the installation, so you have one team handling the job from start to finish.
Upgrades that match how your property has changed
If you've added appliances, changed your routine, or simply want more generation from the roof, adding extra panels can be a smart move. Our consultation, delivered by our local team in Ipswich, gives you a clear picture before any work begins. That means you can decide with proper information instead of guesswork.
Why upgrading can be worth it
A solar upgrade can improve output without the disruption of starting from scratch with a completely new system. Newer panels are often a better fit for households that use more power than they did a few years ago. We carry out this work with care at S M Electrical Contractors Ltd, helping you get more from the system you already own.
